LOG DRIVERS’ MEMORIES

As the last river to have known log driving in Quebec, the St. Maurice carried in 1995 the last floating logs, which were called “pitounes” (pulpwood bolt). The region was significantly affected by the end of this practice. Log Drivers’ Memories lasts five minutes and relates, through genuine testimonials from our collection, the impacts of the cessation of log driving on the people who experienced it first hand.
